Montreal interior design firm, Jean Carsley Interiors specializes in a wide range of residential and commercial projects in renovation and new construction, including houses, condominiums and executive offices.

Considered one of the pioneers of interior design in Quebec, the late Jean Carsley incorporated the firm in 1967. In 1972, she launched Designers i, and for 20 years, this exclusive Montreal furniture and accessory showroom open to the public and trade, showcased fine imported furniture, antique accent pieces and accessories.

Suzan Carsley, principal of the firm, joined in 1973 after graduating from Pratt Institute in New York with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Environmental and Interior Design. Today she heads the diversified design team. The company prides itself in creating timeless spaces that do not follow the trend, combining contemporary design training with traditional design exposure.

Design services range from 1 hour consultations to handling the complete project and may include the following:
  • Analysis of requirements and existing conditions
  • Design development
  • Space planning and furniture layout
  • Electrical and lighting layout and fixture specifications
  • Furniture, material and finish research and specifications
  • Concept drawings of custom designed furniture, built-ins, window treatments
  • Detailed plans, specifications and schedules for trades to implement designs
  • Meeting trades and following up work in progress to completion
